If you are on active duty today, serving honorably anywhere
in the world, or have served honorably during any eligible war era:
April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918 (World War I)
December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946 (World War II)
June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955 (Korean War)
February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975 (Vietnam War)
August 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984 (Lebanon/Grenada)
December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990 (Panama)
August 2, 1990 to today (Gulf War/War On Terrorism)

American Legion Auxiliary
You may join the American Legion Auxiliary if you are:

The mother, wife, sister, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter
or grandmother of a member of the American Legion.
A female veteran who served during any of the conflicts listed below.
The mother, wife, sister, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter
or grandmother of a deceased veteran who served during any of the conflicts listed for eligibility
Eligibility also applies to step children |

Sons Of The American Legion
All applicants for membership in The Sons Of The American Legion must meet
the following requirements established by the American Legion:
Applicant must be a male descendant adopted son or stepson of a member of
the American Legion.
Or the applicant must be a male descendant of a veteran who died in service
during WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, and the Persian Gulf, or who died subsequent to their
Honorable Discharge from such service.
